American snack company goes nuts with new eco truck
US based peanut company Planters is currently promoting their sustainable values in the most unusual of ways; by currently travelling throughout America in an eco-friendly peanut-shaped truck, bearing the company logo.
This is part of the company’s new ‘Naturally Remarkable’ marketing campaign, aimed at generating interest in their sustainably sourced peanuts.
This isn’t the first ‘Nut Mobile’ (as Planters are calling it), but it is the first eco-friendly one. The latest peanut-shaped vehicle is built around a medium-duty Isuzu NPR Cabover. It features a 5.2-litre turbo-diesel I-4, which is capable of running on peanut oil-enriched biodiesel

The eco-friendly theme stretches beyond the petrol tank though. The ‘nutty’ bodywork is made from non-toxic materials, while the exterior graphics are made from environmentally harmless organic compounds.
The glass, doorframes, and headlamps were repurposed from existing vehicles. Solar panels and pop-up wind turbines help charge the battery, which in turn power the audio system and LED lighting.
Sadly here at The Green Insurance Company we won’t be able to help them out with their insurance. The truck won’t be coming to the UK, and we don’t cover peanut bodykits either!
