Help us 'Ban The Junk' with Grimple's Gooseberry Awards
About...
Grimple’s gooseberries are designed to raise awareness of the issues caused by irresponsible companies sending out millions of unwanted and unnecessary paper mailshots and leaflets. Not only do most people find junk mail highly annoying, it is also an incredible waste of our natural resources and we want to say there is another way.
With access to the internet and e-mail growing month on month, companies don’t need to send out all of the junk paper that they currently do. There are cheaper, greener alternatives and at the very least we want to encourage other companies to start making better use of e-mail.
There are four awards for you to vote on:
Corporate Social Irresponsibility Award (CSI)
'You're so vain' junk mailer of the year
Insurance junk mailer of the year
And the main one:
Overall junk mailer of the year.

Who can vote?
Members of the general public/consumers who would like to nominate an organisation that has distributed junk mail to them in the last year.
How do I vote?
Click here or the link above to get started. You do not need to vote in every category however we do ask at the very least that you nominate for 'Overall junk mailer of the year'.
You can vote as many times as you like.
Who can I vote for?
We won't restrict your choices by giving you options to choose from, therefore you can vote for whoever you like as long as they are a UK organisation. They should be a thoughtless, irresponsible, environmentally unfriendly paper waster who uses annoying junk mail, regularly bombarding the general public.
Decide who fits the award category best, then name that organisation in one!
You can indicate why you chose the specific company by giving a brief description of their crime against the environment in the box provided, and you can also give examples of why they are worthy for the award.
When does voting close?
The deadline for award entries is 5pm on Friday 11th July
How is the winner decided?
After 5pm on Monday 21st July all the votes will be collated and counted and the "winner" will be revealed by Grimple on xx xx xx so keeps your eyes peeled for him delivering the bad news to the biggest offenders.
