Our recruitment process

To take away some of the fear of applying for a new job, this section tells you what you can expect when you go through our recruitment process.

Recruitment is a two-way process and as well as us trying to find out more about you, we have also built in the opportunity for you to find out more about TGIC.

We use a range of tried and tested tools and techniques to uncover your talents and match you to the kind of role you'll be best suited to. We are also an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community.

Information Session:

This stage will last approximately 1 hour. Please bring along your completed application form with you to the Information Session. During this session you will be given a presentation about working life at The Green Insurance Company. We will also give you the opportunity to tour the call centre and listen to our calls.

Face to face interview

This stage will last approximately 40 minutes and is a competency based interview designed to concentrate on the key skills and behaviours you will need for the role you have applied for. This stage of the recruitment process allows us to collect information about how you behave at work or in other situations outside of work. The interview will consist of a series of structured questions that look for specific examples of how you have behaved in different situations that relate to the prospective job.

There will be time in the interview for you to ask questions about the role for which you are being interviewed.

Medical

The medical is a pre-employment medical around which your offer of employment is subject to you passing. The medical will be performed by our in house Occupational Health Therapist and will last approximately 30 minutes. It will include a drug screening and a basic check of your height, weight and eyesight.

Credit Check/Criminal conviction

As we are authorised by the Financial Services Authority, we need to ensure that there is no risk to our customers or our organisation. We will carry out checks on the above, however your legal rights will remain unaffected.
